Shoppers always want to know their orders will arrive on time, but during the busy Christmas season that’s especially important.
To calculate the estimated delivery dates we show shoppers, we take information from your delivery profiles, like processing times and choice of carrier, and combine it with our carrier data. Keeping your processing times up to date and making sure that you’re dispatching your orders on-time is all we need you to do - we’ll handle the rest (because we know you’re busy). You shouldn’t pad your processing times with extra days to account for carrier delays. We’ll show shoppers an updated estimate at the moment they’re ready to place their order.
We look at all the data we have about the millions of Etsy orders delivered via the United States Postal Service to shoppers in the US, so we can quickly spot any delays. Etsy’s estimated delivery dates are updated regularly to account for changes in how long it’s taking packages to be delivered.
In November, we’ll start making those estimates even more accurate by looking at how long USPS packages are taking to arrive between post codes. If there are delays on that specific route, we’ll update estimated delivery dates to let your customers know. Showing these delivery estimates at the listing level means we can give shoppers the most up to date estimated info they need before making their purchase without turning away Christmas shoppers who aren’t seeing delays in their post code.
So rest easy - we’re working to let shoppers know when their Christmas orders will arrive. All you need to do is add your chosen delivery carrier details to your delivery profiles, keep your processing times up to date and keep dispatching orders on time! Update your processing times today.
