What’s new
Shoppers visit Etsy for one-of-a-kind gifts that are made just for them—in fact, over 25% of sales on Etsy last November and December included a request to personalise an item. And you’ve told us that you need a better way to collect important information from buyers about how they’d like their item personalised. That’s why we’ve created a new field you can switch on for listings where you offer personalisation, for buyers to specify important details about their personalised order before they check out. You control what listings have this field, and what type of information buyers should include. Read on to learn more about how to enable this feature for your listings.
How it works
You can indicate which listings shoppers can personalise in the listings manager by selecting an individual listing, navigating to the personalisation section, and toggling “Personalisation” on. From there, you’ll be able to include your own guidelines and instructions for buyers (limited to 1024 characters) that’ll appear above the “Add to basket” button on the listing page.
You can also use the bulk editor to enable personalisation for multiple listings at once.
If you enable this new field, buyers will be able to fill out the personalisation form before they can check out. The information provided by buyers will appear on the order receipt and on the orders page in Shop Manager.
We understand that you might still have orders that require a higher level of customisation, and we encourage you to continue using custom orders in those cases.
