There are a lot of tasks on your to-do list and having the right tools can help you check them off. You can sync your Etsy shop with third-party tools called integrations to manage many of the things that come along with running your own business, including marketing, bookkeeping and keyword research.

We asked Etsy shop owners to tell us which integrations make being a business owner easier. These are the ones that stood out.

FotoFuze

FotoFuze cleans up your product photography to give you a crisp white or black background - no sophisticated photo-editing skills required. Import your listing photos and edit them using FotoFuze’s tools and then export them back to your shop.

You can try out FotoFuze’s basic tools for free. You can also upgrade to a Pro account to access more advanced tools.

What sellers are saying

“FotoFuze is the easiest way for me to get a quick, clean white background, and you're able to update your listings with pretty new photos right away”, says Rachelle Rapp, owner of crochet and knitwear shop Cosier & Cosier based in Perrysburg, Ohio. “FotoFuze just gives photos that extra bright touch that they need.”

Marmalead

Marmalead can help you brainstorm keywords for your products and give you insights into trends. Sync your shop and Marmalead will also give your listings a grade so you can identify which listings to work on. There’s a subscription fee for using Marmalead’s tools.

What sellers are saying

“Marmalead has helped me identify keywords for my listings that I never would have thought of myself”, says Michelle de Brenni, owner of Wattle Press in McLaren Vale, Australia. "I also listen to the podcast that Marmalead puts out and have had success using their tips and tricks."

Pinterest

When you connect your Etsy shop to Pinterest, your listings will include more information about your shop including a follow button any time they’re Pinned. Linking your accounts also gives you access to more stats so you can see how your Pins are performing. It’s free to connect your Pinterest account.

What sellers are saying

“Pinterest is great”, says Sara Mohrman of New Orleans, Louisiana-based shop Le Marigny. “I'm a home decor seller and a lot of my target market ‘hangs out’ on Pinterest. The analytics I get from Pinterest help me narrow down my target market and learn more about who they are.”

Square

With Square, sellers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia can process credit card payments on the go. Sync your shop and import your Etsy inventory to the Square app, and when you make an in-person sale, your shop’s inventory will be updated automatically. It’s free to sign up for Square, but the payment processing fees vary.

What sellers are saying

“Square makes it easy to do in-person sales events through my Etsy store”, says
Rachelle Trujillo, the owner of California-based home decor shop Made of Leaf and Star. “Since it syncs with my existing listings I only have to create them once and I don't have to keep track of multiple sets of sales records.”

QuickBooks

Sellers in the US can connect their shops to QuickBooks to make tax time breezier. Sync your shop and your transactions are automatically categorised so you can find money-saving deductions when it’s time to file. Upgrade to the QuickBooks + TurboTax bundle to export your Schedule C and pay your taxes online. A subscription is required for QuickBooks Self-Employed and the QuickBooks + TurboTax bundle.

What sellers are saying

“QuickBooks is just like it sounds. Your books done quickly, accurately, and with no guesswork”, says Sennin Esko, owner of South Egremont, Massachusetts-based jewellery shop Mountain Spirit Jewels. “I spend one evening a quarter sifting through my transactions and then I'm done for another three months. QuickBooks determines what I owe in income tax based on my net profit after all expenses and I can pay the IRS directly from my QuickBooks account. It's a no-brainer.”

Wave

Wave is a free online accounting app that gives you a better picture of your business's cash flow. Sync your Etsy shop and your sales will appear automatically. Wave also lets you create and send invoices for your suppliers. Wave’s accounting tools are free and available across the globe. You can upgrade to a monthly subscription to manage payroll taxes if you have employees.

What sellers are saying

“The Wave integration is very important for me as a newer small business with no real accounting experience”, says Chris Scilla, owner of Torquay, England-based shop Lovely Wedding Stuff. “Being able to import my numbers directly from Etsy to Wave helps me manage my time more efficiently when doing my books.”

Outfy

Outfy is a social media management tool that lets you automate your posts to social media and create collages, videos and GIFs to make your posts more compelling. It’s free to try, but the fee varies depending on how much you share.

What sellers are saying

“The app allows for quick and easy scheduling of posts to Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram”, says Jason Weymouth of Brunswick, Maine-based Etsy shop Carved Wooden Spoons. “It saves me time and I don’t have to spend hours in front of a computer to post.”

Vela

Vela is a bulk-editing tool that makes it easy to update titles, descriptions, prices, variations and photos on multiple listings at once.

What sellers are saying

“Vela makes changing multiple listings a cinch”, says Natasha Cornall of Edinburgh, Scotland-based jewellery shop Willow. “I can update photos almost instantly instead of going into each listing individually.”

Note: Etsy doesn’t control or endorse third party integrations generally, and, in addition to Etsy’s rules, each one can have its own terms, privacy policy, and requirements you should look in to before using them.
