This 56 page detailed e-book is special, any knitter interested in knitting history would want this book!
See for the first time actual colours of seventeen different Victorian and 1900s fashion yarns and how they were intended to be used. Fleisher's was one of the top American yarn spinners and its yarns and colours are applicable to most other leading spinners of the day such as Columbia, Bear Brand, The Good Shepherd, Minerva, Corticelli, &c.
My pdf book - in 300% scaleable detail, uniquely presents a 100 year old yarn card then clearly explains its knitting yarns together with some of their intended colourworked patterns and notes their equivalents for today. All these are “for the first time evers” and so of considerable interest to those keen to understand antique and vintage knitting.
To commenorate, I also include some pages from the 13th Fleisher Yarns Manual of 1915 giving patterns for knitting “comforts” for those caught up in what was to be the 1914-1918 World War, a turning point that was to shape all modern life.
No more being lost over old yarn put-ups and needle sizes - I've done the research and have handled these yarns myself - so for the first time, there is expert and comprehensive conversion information throughout.
The book corrects popular knitterly misconceptions - eg older yarns are NOT thicker than modern equivalents - Antique Knitting Worsted is actually a modern Sports weight yarn! then the color names that are guessable - Gendarme is a pale blue! Imperial is pink! Light wood brown is pale egg yolk yellow!

TECHNICAL ADVICE for all our pdfs - put here just in case, these pages are great and haven't let us down - (we're all newish at this too):
YOU DO NOT NEED A DROPBOX ACCOUNT- just look for the ' ... ' symbol on the right, click that, and select 'download' in the usual way. Check you can save the preview pdf to your computer and that then you can print from it - the full version is exactly in the same format. DON'T TRY TO PRINT FROM UNSAVED version - that, we've found, can lead to conflicts if you haven't got up-to date editions of software for your computer, tablet, techy whatever.
You will need a free up-to-date Adobe Acrobat Reader e.g.

*I have found Dropbox ideal to do this for my customers
