The ball end "finds" the right spot on your fabric and helps to lay your stitches nice and even! This ball-tip helps to end the unintentional splitting of fibers while you stitch. Great for counted cross-stitch and other types of hand embroidery.

Size 26 (37mm) is recommended for low to medium count fabrics such as 18 & 20 ct. Aidas, 32 ct. Linen and Lugana.

I'm so pleased with the size 24 needles, that I decided to get the size 26 for 32 ct. fabric. After so many years of stitching, I never expected that a modification in needles would make such a difference. It's an "old dog, new tricks" sort of thing! Love it!
