Although clogs and mules are similar styles of footwear that are backless without laces, zippers, or buckles, there are a few differences in their features.
Clogs come from Dutch culture and were traditionally made with a wood sole and a leather upper part of the shoe. Clogs for girls have maintained their structure, but the material they’re made of has evolved to include leather, suede, fabric, and rubber. The sturdy sole is designed in various heights and shapes, from a straight, flat base to a raised, curvy platform.
Mules are a lightweight version of a clog, that have either a closed or open-toe design with a thinner sole and various heel heights or no heel at all. Girls’ mules are popular to wear in the spring and summer or anywhere with a warmer climate. They can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion, and are great for playing inside and outside.
Both options are slip-on styles that are easy to take on and off and many are made with waterproof materials that can be worn to the pool or by the seashore, making them the perfect shoes for youngsters.
